Projektbeschreibung

For our client we are looking for a Knowledge Graph Engineer (m/w/d).

Project objective: Design and implementation of a scalable, enterprise-grade knowledge graph layer to unify structured and unstructured data and enable semantic search, intelligent reasoning, and AI-powered workflows.

Project tasks:

  • Design and implement scalable knowledge graph schemas based on property graph and/or RDF models to represent business entities, relationships, and domain logic across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and optimize graph queries using Cypher, SPARQL, or Gremlin and design ingestion pipelines to transform heterogeneous enterprise data into structured graph models.
  • Create and further develop ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic models and define validation standards, consistency checks, and governance processes across the ontology lifecycle.
  • Integrate enterprise data sources such as relational databases, APIs, document repositories, and cloud platforms to enable semantic search, entity resolution, and knowledge-driven workflows.
  • Define graph API layers and semantic access patterns and document modeling standards with consideration for data lineage, governance, and access control.

Knowledge and professional qualifications:

  • Several years of hands-on experience in knowledge graph engineering, graph databases, or semantic data architecture, including the productive use of at least one platform such as Neo4j, AWS Neptune, Stardog, TigerGraph, or GraphDB.
  • Strong proficiency in Cypher, SPARQL, or Gremlin as well as proven experience in designing graph schemas and ontology-aligned data models for enterprise use cases.
  • Solid understanding of RDF, OWL, linked data principles, and ontology design as well as experience with tools such as Protégé and validation frameworks such as SHACL.
  • Practical experience in integrating enterprise data from relational databases, APIs, and cloud platforms as well as strong Python and SQL skills for transformation, ingestion, and enrichment.
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and access controls as well as the ability to translate business requirements into scalable graph models in project-specific coordination with architecture and domain teams.
